Cat Taylor
January 2022 - Cat is no longer a squad member.
I was a long term member of Cleveland OK as I was born in Yorkshire, between the heather moorland and the North Sea. I started orienteering off paths at age 7. I was able to do a university exchange in Uppsala, Sweden, and then I moved to Sweden after university. Now I am living in Stockholm and I run with OK Södertörn. I work as a freelance translator.
News: March 2020, Cat has moved to Norway, joining Fredrikstad Skiklubb, and racing in their colours.
News: August 2018, Cat writes in her blog about moving back to the UK.
News: An injury has meant Cat has done almost no running through the winter of 2018/19, but she came back to competition with the JK middle race (but not the long).
As part of the GB team, I had particularly good results in 2015 with 5th and 6th places in the home World Champs forest races, and then later a World Cup win. In 2017, I was 6th with the WOC Sprint Relay Team in Estonia. In the UK, I am now a member of South Yorkshire.
Please have a look at my own blog for more.
My first appearance for GB at World Championships: 2012.
My best WOC results: 4th Sprint Relay, 5th Middle, 6th Long, 6th Forest Relay, 38th Sprint.
Clubs: South Yorkshire Orienteers (Yorkshire & Humberside OA) and Fredrikstad Skiklubb (Norway)
