Orienteering World Cup 2025

The senior international meetings of 2025 are:

  • World Cup Round 1: Idre Fjall, Sweden, 19th-22nd June, (Long, Middle and Relay)
  • World Champs: Kuopio, Finland, 8th-12th July, (Middle, Long, Relay)
  • World Games, Chengdu, China, 8th-11th August, (Middle, Sprint, Sprint Relay)
  • European Champs (World Cup Round 2): Hasselt, Belgium, 27th-31st August, (Sprint Relay, Knockout Sprint, Sprint)
  • World Cup Final: Uster, Switzerland, 26th-28th September, (Sprint, Sprint Relay, Knockout Sprint)

British Team

The priority competitions for the British Team are the World Champs, the European Champs and the World Games.

GB has places for 2 men and 2 women at the World Games (all run all races.) At the World Champs it is 3 men and 3 women for the middle, 2 men and 3 women for the long, and a team in each relay. At the European Champs it is a team for the Sprint Relay, and up to 8 men and 8 women for each of the individual formats.

For World Cup 1 GB has places for 9 men and 9 women. The main selection races are the JK (Easter, Yorkshire) and British Long (10th May in the Lake District.)

The selection policy document notes that athletes selected for the World Champs may, after discussion, not be selected for World Cup 1 in line with the programme's prioritisation of the World Champs.
