One of the highlights of the orienteering calendar, TioMila, takes place near Stockholm next weekend. A lot of the GB Squad will take part, and they have written several articles. This item is a quick summary and an index to the articles.
For a taste of the TV pictures and a bit more on last year please see the SVT 2 minute video (It's in Swedish.)
A video view over the arena is recently available.
Exactly 1000 teams have entered. If you're not going you might be interested in following it online. Social media and online results can keep you up to date. There is also a paid for internet TV service - it is all broadcast online. GPS tracking and many cameras (both skilfully setup in close co-operation with the planners) allow the broadcasters to show the story well, often with great drama as the races unfold. The English commentary will be by Boris Granovskiy and Graham Gristwood, and will be good. You can buy the broadcast at www.10mila.se for SEK 150.
On The Red Line has several preview articles.
The junior race is on Saturday morning. The 5-leg women's race is Saturday afternoon, with the start at 1215 UK-time and the winners expected to finish a bit before 5pm. Then you get a bit of a rest. The 10-leg open race starts at 7:30pm UK-time, and the winners should come in about 6am Sunday morning.
