
It is all broadcast online. GPS tracking and many cameras (both setup in close co-operation with the planners) allow the broadcasters to show the story well, often with great drama as the races unfold. This year there's again an English language commentary option, with Boris Granovskiy and Graham Gristwood. It costs 150SEK. Order the broadcast at www.10mila.se.
As with watching all sport knowing a bit more about the teams and the athletes helps the appreciation.
This article is a summary of the timings and colours of some of the clubs who may well feature. There being more than 300 teams in each race suggests someone important is left out. I wonder who.

Lillomarka OL - The Norwegian club where Matt is; the club that has more GB Squad members than any other. The white is one of the most distinctive colour schemes. There is a spectacular shot of a large group together in the white on the Lillomarka club website.

Halden SK - the Norwegian club with a long history of top results where Hollie, Jo and Sasha are members.
Halden is in the south-east Norway, very close to the border with Sweden. It has a population of 30,000.

NTNUI - The largest sports club in Norway is associated with the Norwegian Science and Technology University in Trondheim. Trondheim is Norway's third biggest city; it's population is similar to that of Aberdeen..

Nydalens Skiklub - Oslo's largest orienteering club with around 500 members. Alan is a member.
The Oslo metropolitan area has a population of 1.7 million, which is a third of the total Norwegian population.

Göteborg-Majorna OK - one of the strongest teams in the Women's Race.
Gothenburg is Sweden's second largest city with a population in the metropolitan area of 1 million.

Alfta-Ösa OK - another strong team in the Women's race, including three Russians last year.
Last year: Women's - 8th; Open - no team solely from the club.
IFK Göteborg - last year's winners of TioMila, and also of Jukola in 2016 and 2017.
Last year: Women's - 7th; Open - 1st.
Järla Orientering - one of the Stockholm clubs.
About 2.3 million people live in the Stockholm metropolitan area.

IFK Lidingö - the Stockholm club where Hector is.
Last year: Women's - 6th; Open - 8th.
OK Linné - the Uppsala club that Cat was a member of for six years. A very strong finish from their final four in the open race last year took them to second place.
Uppsala is 44 miles north of Stockholm, and has a population of 150,000. Wikipedia says that Uppsala University is the oldest centre of higher education in Scandinavia.

Södertälje-Nykvarn Orientering - who Ralph lived and trained with from 2011, initially with Scott Fraser and Graham Gristwood for British company. European and World sprint gold medallist Jonas Leandersson won the sprint finish of 2016 (after 16.5km in the forest.)
Södertälje is an industrial city 20 miles south-west of Stockholm, known as the home of the Scania truck company, and has a population of 70,000.
Last year: Women's - 14th; Open - 3rd.
Stora Tuna - last year's Women's Race winners with world number 1 Tove Alexandersson winning it on the last leg. The open team includes the international Emil Svensk and several of his brothers.
They are from Borlange in central Sweden.
Last year: Women's - 1st; Open - 13th.
Kalevan Rasti - from eastern Finland, winners of Jukola and TioMila multiple times, with many overseas internationals including Graham.
Last year: Women's - 20th; Open - 7th.
Koovee - another Finnish team with many overseas internationals, last year including Daniel Hubmann, Oleksandr Kratov and the Estonian WOC Men's relay team.
Last year: Women's - 31st; Open - 4th.
Paimion Rasti - may feature in both races, but have not been right at the top for some years. The men's team has world-class athletes to finish, so watch out if they are still in contention then.
